Dualities

Dualities

Oil on Canvas     27"h x 48"w

I call this painting "Dualities", because of the pairs that cropped up in the composition. The Hawthorne bridge towers, the geese, the trees, the cat-tails and many more small details in the painting appear in doubles. This is circumstantial, but deliberate.
The goose on the right has one leg posed behind it. It actually held that pose perfectly still for about ten minutes. Its mate wandered slowly around until it was its turn. Then that goose gave me about a three minute pose.
